Illa Negra

Half a mile north of the port of Fornells, sheltered by the Cape of Begur, just off shore, we find some rock formations that are just on the surface.

The largest rock in the outer part has a black top and called "black island" or "illa Negra".

The mooring buoy here is attached to the sidewall of the rock at a depth of about 8 meters, this is done in order to facilitate an easy descent.

Diving depth

Between 8 and 23 meters.

Visibility

Generally very good between 10 and 20 meters

Flora and fauna

Cuttlefish, squid, conger, moray eels, lobsters, stingrays and a variety of nudibranches.
